Special Education Teacher
Allow me to Introduce MyselfMy name is Sharon Neumann, and I am incredibly excited about being a part of the Charger family at Apex Friendship Middle School. Born and raised in Illinois, I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education, K-12, from Northern Illinois University. Shortly afterward, I began my teaching career in a sweet, small town called Geneseo, in the northwest corner of Illinois. In 2012, I completed my Master’s Degree in Reading from Western Illinois University. I’ve been a high school track coach and an advisor for the Key Club, a student organization focused on serving the school and community. I have been blessed to teach in a variety of settings and widespread content areas. I have loved having opportunities to team teach language arts and math, taught all content areas in a separate setting including Curriculum Assistance and even a shop class! I can't wait to see what new opportunities and challenges I will have here at Apex Friendship Middle. I have been married to my wonderful husband Gus for 12 years, and we have two amazing children, Owen (9) and Taylor (7). I also can’t exclude our very first baby, our sweet 11 year old goldendoodle Cooper. We have now been living in Apex for four years, and we have treasured every minute of it. When I’m not at school, I love to cook/bake, read, run, and spend time with my family at the beach or traveling. Inspiring students to become the very best versions of themselves and preparing them for a successful future is something I strive for each day. Go Chargers!
